Joining the Congregation
Joining the Congregation
Anyone, regardless of membership, is welcome to participate in worship or any of our other groups or events, at any time. We are a welcome and inclusive spiritual community of all ages, genders, sexual orientation, race and class status.
We celebrate when folk come forward to become a member of our congregation! To do so, is to say publicly that you are a person of faith and that you wish to join others in a faith community. It is also a sign of commitment in Powassan United—that you value who we are, and you want to be part of our particular spiritual community to receive the care of our Church, and also offer your gifts in the care of others.
If you have been baptized in another Church, we recognize that, and after a meeting with our minister or a confirmation class, when you get the chance to learn a bit about The United Church of Canada, and our congregation, you can be confirmed on a Sunday morning during worship. If you have not been baptized before, you can be baptized and confirmed on the same Sunday.
